Metadata is data about data, that is descriptions of the data. Metadata is available for
all components of GBROOS using the ISO 19115 standard. The metadfata describes the instrumetns
that collected the data,
the location of the systems, keywords to describe the data and contact details.
If you use the data from this site you should also get the metadata for the data so that
you have a complete description of the data. For GBROOS metadata has been created at the Project
level (GBROOS),
for each component of GBROOS (such as the moorings and the sensor network), for each site or
platform deployed and down to the individual sensor. The combined hierarchy of metadata forms a
complete description of the data,
how it was collected and why.
All of the metadata for the GBROOS project is housed in the IMOS metadata system which
can be accessed here.
