IMOS FAIMMS Sensor Network data - Lizard Island Weather Station Wind Speed - From 13 Aug 2010 To 16 Jun 2017

The 'Facility for Automated Intelligent Monitoring of Marine Systems' (FAIMMS) is a facility of the Australian 'Integrated Marine Observing System' (IMOS) project. This data set was collected by the FAIMMS Great Barrier Reef Sensor Network and contains data from the following sensor deployments: There have been 2 deployments for the Wind Speed (Scalar avg 10 min) data set. Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Wind Speed (Scalar avg 10 min) from 13 Aug 2010 through to 23 Feb 2012, and the installation was located at/on Lizard Island Weather Station Latitude:-14.6915 - Longitude:145.466417. Sensor deployed was a Vaisala WXT510/WXT520 Weather Transmitter manufactured by Vaisala, model WXT510. The weather station is to provide on-reef weather conditions to allow the interaction with the atmosphere and the water to be understood. It is NOT set up as a meteorological grade station (for example it is too low to the water) but rather to give an indication of the atmospheric conditions at the surface of the water actually on the reef.
