Learn how to use AIMS Data Web Services

AIMS Data Web Services

An example of using AIMS Data Web Services in a mashup. With the example, Google Map is used with a selection of GeoRSS XML from the AIMS real time sensor network. The GeoRSS are of the latest observations. This example demonstrates how the AIMS Web Services can be used to create a useful online web tool with little effort.

Note that if you wish to use the services in your own mashup, you will need to 'proxy' the services so they appear to come from your own server. This is to satisfy the same origin rule for asynchronous (AJAX) requests.

How is this useful?
  1. Use the Australian Institute of Marine Science data web services to integrate our data with your real time models.
  2. Create mashups with our data using Google Maps or OpenLayers. Also YahooMaps.
  3. Include our data into GIS analysis tools.
